Tuesday, January 13th - Just updated the site with a bunch of new stuff. Hope everyone enjoys.... Get some new shapes now and get in shape for ABS Nationals.... It's right around the corner.
Sunday, October 19th - Things have been going well out here in Southern California. We're finally starting to get a little bit of that cold weather everyone seems to enjoy, and as such, we're starting to get outside a little bit more. Kyle Owen and myself recently went to Black Mountain and have had two good trips - putting up a long time project, dubbed Expatriot, v12, and a quick second ascent of Tour de France sit start, also v12. Kyle came very close, but only I was able to send. Monday, we both went up again and quickly sent Man is the Bastard, v10. Below is a picture of Exaptriot from Ian Mcintosh. A huge thanks to him...
In case you missed it, we've also released 4 brand new Patina XL jugs that are available to order. A review of them is available here...
Also, today we are releasing our brand new shape specifically for Halloween as a special, lucky edition for everybody. It's crafted by ar artist, and it really shows. the detail is incredible - it tunrned out very nice and very user-friendly. It was shaped by Mike Sullivan, who's attention has now turned from gym-sized murals and portraits of climbing to shaping incredible, artistic holds. A huge thanks to him. And here is a link to his site...
And keep checking back, we'll be having plenty more to share within the next couple months, expect some new shapes to be showing up regularly.
Monday, July 28th It's been a long time coming, and I know some of you have been checking
daily for updates - so here goes with the status of how Climb-It's been
and is doing:
- Climb-It's owner, Zak Shields, is just about done with a new Hangar
18 climbing gym in Riverside, CA. They just redesigned the entire site
and although it's still in the process of getting everything out of
construction, it's worth a look. All that's left is the finishing touches... And some photos for you guys to drool over, if the Hangar website doesn't beat me to it... ;-)
- As soon as we're done setting and getting ready for the grand opening
in Riverside, we are going to start on molding. Over the past couple
months, we've been cranking out new shapes, but just have not been able
to find the time to mold them. But with the new gym being done and
taken care of, we'll have time to focus on the new holds, and you will
have the chance to enjoy them.
- We'll be getting new photos of the holds done soon. That was another
task that took a priority hit when the new gym started. But don't
worry, a fresh new series of photos will be coming soon, along with
some minor site changes.
- Also, those that have been ordering recently or are planning on
ordering. Be sure and look at the coloration policy we have implemented
due to rising costs. As always, the prices with colorations are
negotiable, but keep in mind there is more room to play with larger
orders.
- Kyle Owen did an absolutely amazing job at the world cup at the Teva
Games this past June. Just a shout out to Kyle - and here's to hoping
he keeps up the good work. Kyle took 18th after making it to semi's in
his first world cup event ever. Good effort.
- When the transition was made a while back to have Paul go back to
school and have me start taking care of the company, we were
unfortunately required to disband our team. Which isn't to say that we
can't still take care of our ex-team members, just that we have no real
official team at present. But, to that point, I wanted to give a shout
out to Steve Lapen, who was a former team member who just recently sent
Mont Pote Assis, 8b+. Good effort. Check the video below.
- On a complete separate note - my good friend Keith Bradbury has just
released his film "The Outsider" (for those that don't speak french).
It's an exceptional film, made all the better by the fact that it's
free. though, if you enjoy it as much as I did, a small donation
couldn't hurt. It's shot in 720p and has a great soundtrack. Go check
out Unclesomebody to download the full film. There's directions on how at his site. The trailer is below.
Stay tuned... There's always more to come... Friday, April 18th It's been another busy month here at Climb-It. We recently sponsored the first 2008 Mammut Bouldering comp back on the East coast - and it turned out awesome! The Gravity Brawl was a huge hit - click on the photo for a link to the Climb-It behind the scenes blog, and below are links to both the mens' and womens' finals videos.
We're sponsoring the upcoming National Setters clinic being held in Colorado at the end of the month. Click on the photo for some more info...
Don't forget that the first Climbing World Cup to be held in the U.S. in more than twenty years is just around the corner! Keep pullin on that plastic.
Also, keep your eyes open for more than 100 new shapes coming this way by the end of psring or early summer. Definitely worth the wait ;-)
Monday, March 3rd - It's been a little while since I've had the time to update, things have been hectic this last month!
Kyle Owen placed seventh at ABS Adult Nationals for 2008 - since there
were two competitors in the top 7 from foreign countries, Kyle has been
asked to represent the United States on the World Cup bouldering team
in Vail this June. Congratulations Kyle!!! We couldn't be more proud!
Here were the final results. We should have some pictures coming within the next week or so, so stay tuned...
We've also sponsored a few miscellaneous comps throughout the country
this past month and some into March. Just giving a shout out that we
hope all went well!
Up on the Climbing Hold Review website, we have another type of review that just went out... They asked us what we thought be the best buy for staying under a $200 budget from our line, you can head over there to see all the details of what we told them and what the question fully entailed...
And on the agenda is going to be us supporting two Men's and two
Women's qualifier and final problems at the upcoming Gravity Brawl -
the first stop on the 2008 Mammut Bouldering Championship series on
March 28th and 29th at the New Jersey Rock Gym. Last year it was huge,
and this year should be even bigger. Keep an eye out for it... Here's a
link if you're living under a rock...
We're also sponsoring a behind the scenes blog for the routesetters of
the series - The Climb-It Routesetter's Blog. It'll be on Facebook, so
sign up if you're not there already, and we'll give you all a direct
link to it just as soon as it's up.
